The French artist who is credited with “founding impressionism”. Born in France Monet lived a long life to 86 seeing many of his loved ones come and go. He loved working outdoors and was also known to be accompanied by Renoir. Many facts show the struggle Monet went through with depression throughout his life such as this quote, “Age and chagrin have worn me out. My life has been nothing but a failure”. While Claude might have been critical of his accomplishments the art world has been forever changed by his work. He has influenced several famous artist and will always be known “the driving force behind Impressionism”.
